Winnipeg Signers join the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra on an extraordinary performing tour in the Netherlands
Celebrating the liberation of the Netherlands
May 4, 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands at the end of World War II by Canadian Forces. Several Winnipeg and Manitoba based units served in the Netherlands, including Lord Strathcona’s Horse, 12th Manitoba Dragoons, The Fort Garry Horse, Royal Winnipeg Rifles, The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, and 402 (City of Winnipeg) Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Today, Canada is fondly remembered by the Dutch for ending their occupation and oppression during the war.
The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra together with The Winnipeg Singers are invited to the Netherlands to perform in a historic tour to commemorate this important milestone anniversary.
