Marni Enns
As a soprano soloist, Marni is well known on the Winnipeg music scene having won numerous competitions. Marni graduated from Concord College (now Canadian Mennonite University) in 1994 and from the University of Winnipeg in 1996. In 1997 Marni won the Lt. Governor General award at the Winnipeg Music Festival and in 2000 Ms. Enns was the winner of the coveted Rose Bowl trophy which is the highest vocal award at the Winnipeg Music Festival. She has appeared as soloist with numerous choirs singing Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Mass in C Minor and Bach’s B Minor Mass with the Mennonite Festival Chorus under Bramwell Tovey and the WSO as well as Haydn’s Creation with Mark Bartel conducting. Marni performed Handel’s Israel in Egypt, David Fanshawe’s African Sanctus and Mendelssohn’s Psalm 55 setting, Hör mein Bitten with the Mennonite Oratorio Choir directed by Rudy Schellenberg. Marni has also sung with internationally renowned conductor Helmut Rilling at the Oregon Bach Festival where she was a chorister and soloist from 1992-97. Under Maestro Rilling she toured Germany, Estonia, Sweden and Poland. Marni is currently a member of the Winnipeg Singers, Canzona, the Encore Quartet and is Associate Pastor of Worship at the Elmwood Mennonite Brethren Church. Marni is married to Rob Enns and they have three young daughters (Taylia, 7, Megan, 5 and Anika 2). This season Marni can also be heard performing St. Matthew Passion with Canzona as well as the Messiah with the Portage Ave. Church.
