Sheldon Johnson
After a 15 year self-imposed exile from the choral music scene, Sheldon is pleased to make his return this year as a member of the Winnipeg Singers. During his time away, Sheldon spent his days (and nights) working behind the scenes in the theatre and film community. Highlights include: Technical Director of the Opening/Closing Ceremonies of the 1999 Pan-American Games, Set Carpenter (MTC, Rainbow Stage, PTE, RWB), Production Manager and/or Set Designer on 12 productions for the G&S Society of Winnipeg, and Draughtsman and/or Set Designer on numerous Feature Film and Television projects including “Shall We Dance” (Miramax) and “Falcon Beach: The Series” (Global/ABC). Currently, Sheldon is in his third season as Director of Production for Manitoba Opera (www.manitobaopera.mb.ca).
In his previous life, Sheldon was a two-time member of the National Youth Choir of Canada, spent six seasons as a member of the CBC “Hymn Sing” Chorus, and was a founding member of the popular vocal group “The Easy T’s”.
